Whale of a Sale

Saturday, October 15, 2005, 9:00 am – 3:00pm, Charleston Civic Center Grand Hall

$2 admission fee, children 10 and under admitted free

From crock-pots to clothing, treadmills to toys, from fun to funky, the Junior League of Charleston’s Whale of a Sale promises something for everyone at bargain prices.

The Whale of a Sale is the Junior League of Charleston’s largest fundraiser. The proceeds help to sustain our budget, thus supporting our volunteer efforts and commitment to helping children at risk, for a two year period.

While the sale gives bargain hunters a whale of an opportunity, it also caters to those on tight budgets. Some people in our community are able to find items at Whale of a Sale they otherwise could not afford. The inventory list for the Whale of a Sale features furniture, appliances, linens and drapes, housewares and electronics. Clothing for men, women and children is available, including brand-name styles, maternity wear, baby gear, shoes and vintage formal wear. Also in the stockpile are sporting goods, toys, collectibles, holiday decorations, lawn and garden paraphernalia, pieces of luggage, books, videos, cassette tapes and albums. The Whale of a Sale also features a giant bake sale with goodies made by League members.

We are proud of the tremendous effort that our provisional, active and sustaining members put toward this centerpiece of our fundraising efforts.
