Junior League of Charleston, West Virginia

Grants

Due to the Junior League of Charleston’s outstanding fundraising efforts and success, the League is having an outstanding year for giving back to the community. The League awarded $6,000 in community grants in May. The League awards grants each year, based on available funds, for projects that address recognized needs in the community. Members of the League’s community council reviewed the completed applications and made recommendations to the board. We are happy to report that the following non-profit organizations applied for and received funds this year:

  • Bob Burdette Center
  • Habitat For Humanity
  • Daymark
  • The Metro Valley Chapter of the Gabriele of WV
  • Muscular Dystrophy Association
  • Ronald McDonald House of Southern WV
  • Special Olympics of West Virginia
  • YWCA – Sojourner’s Shelter for Homeless Women and Children

Representatives from these organizations received checks at our Annual Dinner Meeting on May 17, 2006.
